Google Assistant
It is the newest kid on the block whose arrival has once again sparked the war of the virtual assistants.Announced with Google's new Pixel phones which will be replacing the budget friendly Nexus Phones, lets see how it does against Apple's seasoned Siri and Microsoft's Halo inspired Cortana.
Assistant first made an appearance on Google's chat application Allo and then it made its way to the Pixel and Google Home(the new speaker).
The Google Assistant is, at its core, just a new way to make Google searches, but in a conversation with an AI that knows a lot about you.
This is just a small glimpse of how deeply assistant is integrated with all of google's services.Google with it's AI and machine learning technology has gotten to the point where you can say "Show pictures of a cat that I took at my office last week" and it'll pull up that picture.
Compared to Siri and Cortana, Google Assistant is more conversational in the sense it can use context clues to talk about what you were previously talking about, at times Siri and Cortana fail to retain context and cannot answer queries related to the previous question.
Another example
It has no trouble in switching between two or more levels of context.
It can do all the usual alarm setting, sending texts and switching WiFi on and off that could be done with Google Now.
The assistant also has some jokes and funny responses up it's sleeve.
Some other quirks include a crystal ball and acting as a game show host on saying "I'm feeling lucky."
It will also be getting the ability to converse in Hindi.The chat app Allo already has it and is quite fluent!
Google assistant is just as capable and conversational if not more then Siri, and miles ahead of Cortana.
PS: It is possible to use the assistant on all Android Marshmallow 6.0 phones however you need to be rooted and have Xposed Framework installed.The above screenshots are from Xiaomi Redmi 3S.

It remains an outstanding voice-controlled digital assistant, but it faces some strong competition. We compare Siri with Microsoft's Cortana and Google Now.
Siri,was born on 4th of October ,2011 and since then it has had huge advancements through time.Since then , it has head competition with the cortana and Google own assistant, however it stands out from with with a lot of different things which the others may be provided with in the near future.

Raise To Speak
Generally, an user activates Siri by pressing and holding the Home button on the iPhone, but you can toggle a feature called “Raise to Speak”. Instead of bothering with the button, you can now put your iPhone to your ear and Siri is automatically activated. This is however still to come for others.

CORTANA
is an intelligent personal assistant created by Microsoft for windows 10, windows 10 mobile, windows phone 8.1, Xbox One, IOS, Android. Cortana provides lots of passive information even notifying when you need to leave to make an appointment on time.
there are several things you can do with this assistance:
1. identifying songs : just like yo do with shazam and other apps you can use cortana by just making it hear a part of the song.
Search the web using any search engine instead of Bing: Cortana use Google instead or another search engine, like DuckDuckGo or Yahoo! — with the Chrometana extension for Google Chrome. When Cortana directs Google Chrome to a Bing search results page, Chrometana will automatically redirect that search to Google or your search engine of choice, forcing Cortana to perform Google searches.
This only works if you use Chrome as your default web browser, of course.

A company called Knowmail is planning to integrate its email automation engine with Cortana. We don’t know all of the details yet, but Cortana will be able to flag important messages as “urgent” and read them to you. This is one of the greatest achievements as it will save a lot of time in order to go through each and every mail,we might only read the urgent ones.

Cortana is getting a big boost. Microsoft recently unveiled the Cortana Devices SDK that allows developers to create new hardware that benefits from AI. One of the first products will likely be a speaker that works more like Google Home and Amazon Echo. You’ll be able to set reminders, ask about the weather, and maybe even dictate a Word document.
VERDICT
All the three assistants aim to do the exact same task, make your life easier.While Google Assistant and Siri fight head on, Cortana falls short in many aspects. Siri has continued to evolve since it's introduction on the iPhone 4S and has a special place in the hearts of all Apple customers. With the introduction of Google's Assistant, Siri finally has a worthy competitor while Microsoft is still playing catch up in both the virtual assistant and the smartphone game.
